VISAKHAPATNAM District Industries Centre (DIC) General Manager A Ramalingeswara Raju said with land becoming scarce due to heavy concentration of industries, now the time has come for the prospective investors to eye at acquiring plots towards west of the city.
In an interview, Raju told Santosh Patnaik of Bizz Buzz that lands were available towards Chodavaram and Madugula. One should look at investment opportunities in sites. He said presently over 4,000 acres had been kept reserved near Nakkapalli for establishment of units under Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC).
He said large parcels of land were available towards Payakaraopeta bordering East Godavari district. Instead of preferring location only within the precincts of the city, everyone should try to shift a little far away to get more space keeping in view their future requirements. To encourage MSMEs, the government was establishing dedicated parks in various areas of the district. Plots were sold like hotcakes at Gurrampalem. An extent of 54 acres is being developed for the park-the first in the district. On an average 350 square yards has been sold. Now onwards instead of outright sale, plots will be allotted on lease for 33 years.
Raju said they were developing layouts for MSME parks at Narsipatnam and Makavarapalem.
